Stephanie Shek: “Gentleness is easier to understand”

I met Stephanie a few years ago at a retreat in Crete. On the drive from Heraklion Airport to Rethymno, we didn’t stop talking. That intimacy and warmth made me think that, ultimately, with some people—with certain souls—there is a connection, a shared journey and pure emotions, and perhaps in another timeline we were friends or family… As Stephanie says, what brought her to Greece, and specifically to Crete, is destiny. This beloved island is where Stephanie has unfolded and practices her gifts, which include energy healing. Personally, every time I listen to Stephanie’s meditations on her YouTube channel, The Loving Energy, I relax immediately. This is by no means a given situation. Not only it requires an open mind and intention, but it is also of great significance the person who acts as a channel for the light energy to flow through and provide healing benefits. You might wonder how a flight attendant from Hong Kong could completely change the direction of her life. You might not even believe in energy therapies yet and consider them the stuff of fairy tales. In any case, Stephanie offers her own answers, and I hope you enjoy our conversation below as much as I did.

My dear Stephanie life is a journey. On this journey of yours, what brought you in Greece and specifically in Crete?

The simple answer is that I married a Greek man. The real answer is that destiny brought me here.

When I was living in London, a clairvoyant told me she saw me burying a green crystal deep inside the land on a Greek island that would become my home. From what she described, I knew she meant my moldavite, the first mineral I ever owned. I felt sad because I had too many fond memories with it to let it go. I also worried that I wouldn’t know where to bury it or how deep I was supposed to dig.

Years later, I learned that I had a past life as the original moldavite. And it was here in Crete that I developed my way of facilitating land and property healing. In these sessions, I begin in an expanded form, lying deep within the Earth, channelling Sekhem energy to bring the land back to its original energetic blueprint. One day, during a session, my mind lit up as I finally understood: I was the moldavite she saw, and Crete is my home.

As a child did you ever imagine that you would live so far away from your country one day?

I most certainly did not! When I was living in Greece and stressing about how my life would unfold, the Spirits gave me a message. They reminded me that when I was a child, I could never have imagined living on a beautiful Greek island one day. They told me to stop worrying and stop trying to plan everything, because I wouldn’t even begin to know what wonderful gifts to wish for.

When did you decide to become an energy healer?

The first time I received a Sekhem treatment, which is an energy healing method that originated from Ancient Egypt, a small voice inside me said, “I want to do this.” I silenced it, because I thought only people with special abilities could do this kind of work.

When I quit my job in Hong Kong and moved to London with my husband, I suddenly had a lot of free time to think about what I wanted to do. I thought that if a teacher would have me, I would learn it. A teacher said she could teach me, and when I told her I was afraid I could not learn it because I had not learnt anything new for a while, she taught me in four half days instead of two full days.

It turns out everyone can learn it, and everyone can develop what I used to think were special abilities. Now that I am a Sekhem teacher myself, I give the same level of care and dedication my teacher gave me.

In your sessions how do you help people?

If you are asking how these natural or alternative healing modalities work, I like to think about the human body for a moment. How amazing is it that our heart can work tirelessly for our whole life, even when we think we are heart broken. How incredible is our digestive system, which can tell what is nutrient and what is waste. When we recognise what a miraculous design our body is, we can see that health is our natural state. When we do not feel well physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually, it is often because the energy is not flowing as it is designed.

All the modalities that I facilitate work in a way that brings people back toward their natural design. So even when someone tells me about their symptoms, whether physical, mental, emotional or spiritual, I do not treat the symptoms. I help them release blockages so their body can start healing itself and return to its natural state. There is also guidance from the Spirits about what they need to know so they can support their own healing. Sometimes there is homework so they have a tool to help themselves.

If you are asking about the mechanism, then hm… it depends on the person, but I think there are two sides to every session. One side is finding out what the person wants, and the other side is the technique. Finding out what people want is not always easy. Sometimes they only know what they do not want and never think about what they actually want. Sometimes they already have what they want and they cannot see it. My job here is to ask questions and help them reach inside the depth of themselves for the answer.

Most people think the mysterious part is the technique. I used to think that too. I did not think I could do Sekhem, and I definitely did not think I could regress people to a past life. Now I know this is the easy part. It just takes practice. People are the mysterious part, and sometimes I feel like I am doing detective work with the clients. The part of my job I love most is when my clients come up with their own answers or make a realisation.

In your opinion what people need most nowadays?

I think people need to be gentle to themselves. I say “gentle to themselves” instead of “love themselves” because many of us have a distorted idea of what love is. For example, a parent who loves their child might use harsh words to motivate them with their schoolwork. The child grows up thinking that love means speaking in a harsh way.

Gentleness is easier to understand. When you love a friend, you might tell them what you think they need to know, and sometimes you might still say it in a harsh way. It’s easier to know what being gentle is and when someone is hurt, what they need is gentleness. I don’t know anyone who is not hurt. So please be gentle to yourself.

There’s an impression of excessive violence, grief and anger globally, even though more people today are open to energy healing and all that process of inner knowing. What is happening?

I believe the turmoil we see today is part of a bigger shift. Some people say Earth is heading toward destruction, and others talk about a New Earth in the fifth dimension that is love based. I believe the second one is true. I once viewed a past life in Lemuria, a spiritually advanced civilisation that no longer exists. During the regression, before I arrived in Lemuria, people from that civilisation came to apologise to me. I was surprised, because I thought they were supposed to be loving and kind.

Later, I realised I had landed in the early stage of the civilisation as a Phoenix. The people there captured me and chained me on a small island because they believed the Phoenix would bring them good luck. When the Phoenix refused to do what they wanted, they beat him to death. After that, the Phoenix had a rebirth and transformed into a light being.

I believe humanity is going through chaos and pain as part of a process that brings us into the New Earth. I do not like it, even though apparently we all agreed to this when we chose this incarnation. By the way, the Phoenix came to me and guided me through a journey of rebirth, and I shared this as a guided meditation on my YouTube channel.

What do you love about Greece and where do you think there’s room for progress?

I love that people are kind and their hearts are open. I love that even when they are busy, they still stop for a coffee and talk to their friends. I love that people care for one another. What saddens me is when people become so passionate about their opinions or about being right that they end up hurting the people they love. Here, there’s room for progress. I think if they remembered that love is more important, and that love is what they are naturally good at, the love amongst people here could power the whole world.

How it is for a Chinese woman to learn the Greek language? In Greece when we want to say that something is very difficult and cannot understand a thing we say “it’s Chinese to me…”. Is it the same for you?

Well, you know very well that Marathon originated in Greece and guess what, learning the Greek language is like running a never‑ending Marathon! It’s a difficult language, and many Greek people have excused my poor Greek because they also think it is difficult.

So one day, when I said to myself “this is too difficult” and gave up once again, I stopped and thought, wait a moment… why is it difficult? It’s because it is complex and refined. Since then, learning Greek hasn’t become easier, but instead of feeling like it’s a hardship, I feel privileged. What also motivates me is the people I met here in Heraklion. They don’t understand me and they still welcome me and want to know me. That’s why even though I need to practise the script for one to two weeks before I can record them, I persist so that my Greek friends can get to know me in this way.

In Hong Kong, where I’m from, we don’t have a saying like “It’s all Greek to me.” We use “chicken intestines” to describe English and other languages that use Latin alphabets.

Stephanie what is Loving Energy?

This is the same question I have had in my mind for years. About twelve years ago, I suddenly had an urge to buy a domain name. I tried many word combinations I liked at the time, like peace and infinity, but everything was already taken. Then the words The Loving Energy appeared in my mind, and it was available. I bought it and it became my web address, without ever wondering what love or loving energy actually was.

Over the years, I learned that God is the loving energy, and God is in us all. We are made of love, and when we can find our way back to the pure love that we are, we are with God all the time. During my baptism, when I was reciting the Lord’s Prayer, I realised this is how we bring God’s kingdom to be here on Earth.

I really liked that series of meditations with Saints of the Greek Orthodox Church. How did you come up with these?

Thank you! I like it very much, too! First, I would like everyone to know that the Spirits (this is the name I use for the collective of divine beings who assist me) come to me not because I am more special. They come because I ask them to, and I hope this series helps people have a good start in connecting with divine beings. The series began when my first Sekhem teacher told me that Jesus and other divine beings would come and assist healers during a healing session. I asked if she ever met them outside a session, maybe when she was having a coffee. She said no, because they were busy, but I could try and have coffee with them. My reasoning was that if we were working together, we should bond.

So I started communicating with divine beings, and the first ones were Jesus, Goddess Sekhmet, Kwan Yin and Goddess Lakshmi. They work in the realm where there is no religion, and they are always happy to assist. They always come when I ask for them, and the only thing that ever stopped our communication was my psychic ability. So I worked on that, and now I can receive their messages much more easily. They help me with my work, and they help me with my personal growth.

One day, I asked the Spirits what kind of video I could create that would be unique to me. My head turned to the fridge‑magnet icons I have, and I remembered how I wanted to have coffee with them. I looked at the magnet and asked, “Who wants to be the first one?” I saw Saint Fanourios in my mind’s eye raising his hand. He told me to lie down and he guided me into a journey.

I wrote down everything he showed me, added a little story as an introduction, and recorded it as a guided meditation. I did not intend the series to include only Orthodox Saints, but I do connect a lot more with them since I moved to Greece. The other videos in the series happened in the same way, as well as the ones with the Unicorn and the Phoenix.

Are you planning to record more?

Absolutely! Although sometimes the Saints or divine beings do not come for this particular series. For example, I am soon publishing a series of six energy protection technique videos. Archangel Michael showed me these techniques, but he does not want to be credited.

Currently, the Olympian Gods and Goddesses come to me one by one every morning to share their wisdom with me during my morning meditation. I am going to start a series of videos for them soon and I am so excited!

A subscriber asked me to produce more non‑religious videos. I don’t consider any of my videos religious. The Saints in this series work in a realm where there is no religion. I just happened to have made a connection with them, and they come to assist me while I give them a voice through these videos. I was told that Orthodoxy says there is no past life, and yet Saint Catherine’s video is about clearing persecution wounds from a past life.

Please give these Saints a chance even if the religion they represent doesn’t speak to you. And for people who do not think Unicorn or Phoenix are real, you can still enjoy their presence through my Magical Creatures Guided Meditation series.

What is your biggest wish for all people?

I wish it would become part of popular culture for people to look after themselves in a spiritual way. I think it doesn’t matter what your calling is, or what you want to do or achieve in life — when we are more connected with the divine, our thoughts and actions become more aligned with love. So it doesn’t matter whether someone wants to help a lot of people, or someone wants to earn a lot of money. Everything we do will lead us to more love and peace on Earth.

In the past, spirituality seemed unreachable for anyone who wasn’t in the religious sector. Even the non‑religious spiritual teachers felt far away. It’s wonderful to see that people are now more aware of their mental and emotional health. I would love to see this grow, and for more people to dedicate a little time each day to connect with the divine through their higher self. I would like to see people having meaningful conversations, relating to one another with more presence, and bringing spirituality into their everyday life.

I also wish more people would learn about natural or alternative healing modalities. There are so many nowadays, and they are actually very interesting to learn. It’s like cooking. Even someone who has a cook at home would still benefit from learning to cook. It’s empowering to learn to cook for ourselves, and it creates a deeper connection with the food that becomes part of us. It’s the same with healing. It’s empowering to understand energy work, intuition, and the different ways we can support ourselves. And when we apply what we learn to ourselves, we develop a deeper connection with who we are and with our purpose.

I still remember the joy I experienced when energy started flowing out of my hands during my first Sekhem class. And you really don’t need to want to become a healer to learn it — you can use this energy in everyday life, even just to bless your food with it.

I created the What is Love? video series primarily to practise my presentation skills, but I ended up sharing a self‑healing technique in each episode. That was when I knew for sure what I really want to do: to share my healing knowledge with everyone who wants to join me in creating a world filled with loving energy.
